Dog Licenses
All dogs in the Town of Buckland must be licensed annually, by March 31st. Puppies must be licensed by six months of age. New, older dogs and those belonging to new residents must be licensed within 30 days. Open enrollment for dog license is February 1st-March 31st.
In order to license your dog(s), we will need:
- A valid rabies certificate
- The appropriate fee
- A certificate of spaying/neutering, if applicable
Please send the application form, and the appropriate fee made payable to "Town of Buckland" to the Office of the Town Clerk. We will mail the tag back to you as soon as possible. You may also stop by the Town Clerk's office during regular business hours to save on shipping cost.
As a reminder, all dogs must be registered by March 31st, according to Buckland’s Dog By-Law. Dogs registered after that date will be assessed a late fee of $25.00 per dog, unless it is a new dog for the owner. Failure to license your dog will result in a criminal complaint being issued, along with the additional fines.
