Buckland Historic Commission

The mission of the Buckland Historic Commission is to identify, preserve, and educate the public about historic resources in the town.

Specific actions where the Commission should be involved include projects that are federally funded which could impact historic resources in the town. Under 36CFR.800.2(c), participants in the Section 106 review process include both the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and Representatives on Local Governments – the Local Historic Commission.

The role of the Historic Commission in the project review process is to identify any potential impacts on any identified historic properties, including but not limited to properties included on the National Register of Historic Places.
