Public Hearing - Housing Rehab Grant Application

The Town of Buckland will hold a joint public hearing on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, 6:00 p.m., in the Selectboard Meeting Room and via Zoom (https://www.town.buckland.ma.us/select-board for link) at the Buckland Town Hall, 17 State Street, Shelburne Falls, MA  to solicit public input/response to the Town’s submission of an FY 2024 Massachusetts Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to the MA Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities on behalf of the towns of Buckland(Lead), Colrain and Ashfield.  The snow date for the Public Hearing is Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the same location.

The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss the contents of this application. The Town is considering applying for the following activity: a Housing Rehabilitation Program town-wide in all three towns. The Town of Buckland will contract with Franklin County Regional Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA) to administer the CDBG Program.  Town officials and a representative from HRA will be available to discuss the FY2024 CDBG activities.  The Town may apply for up to $1,375,000.

The Town encourages residents from all three towns to attend the meeting where any person or organization wishing to be heard will be afforded the opportunity. The Town will make reasonable accommodations for handicapped, non-English speaking, or hearing-impaired participants with seven days advance written notice to the Selectboard Office.  Any resident unable to participate in the public hearing is welcome to submit written comments to the attention of the Town Administrator, Buckland Town Hall, Buckland, MA, no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing.
