Important Buckland Election Information

2024 is a busy election year!  Here is some important information, and dates you may want to mark on your calendar.  2024 Elections:Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 Presidential Primary, 7am-8pmTuesday, June 4th, 2024 Annual Town Election, 10am-8pmTuesday, September 3rd, 2024 State Primary, 7am-8pmTuesday, November 5th, 2024 General Election, 7am-8pm  
Vote-by-Mail- The state has sent out vote by mail applications which cover all elections, if chosen.  Please visit the following link if you would like to apply, and haven't already: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/divisions/elections/languages/vote-by-mail-applications.htm
Last day to apply for Vote-By-Mail for Presidential Primary: Tuesday, February 27th at 5pm
Please keep in mind that all Vote-by-Mail ballots must be received by 8pm on election day.  Please leave ample time if mailing the ballot back, or put the ballot in the blue ballot box out front of town hall.  If you requested a Vote-by-Mail ballot, but did not return it, you are still eligible to vote on election day.
 
In person, early voting for Presidential Primary:
  • Saturday, February 24th 9am-11am and 3pm-5pm
  • Tuesday, February 27th 3pm-6pm
  • Wednesday, February 28th 11am-2pm
  • Thursday, February 29th 8am-11am

Last day to register to vote for Presidential Primary: Saturday, February 24th, 2024.  The office will be open 9am-11am and 3pm-5pm.  Please bring a state issued ID, bank statement, or utility bill with your current, Buckland address or your social security card when coming to register to vote.

Annual Town Election Nomination Papers: Available now during normal business hours.  Have you ever thought of running for office in Buckland?  Please stop by to pick up your nomination papers to get on this year's annual town election ballot.  You must be a Buckland resident and active voter.  Nomination papers must be submitted by Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 at 4:30pm.  The Current offices on the ballot for 2024 are the following (incumbents will be updated at a later date):

Select Board- 3 year term, 1 positionBoard of Assessor’s- 3 year term, 1 positionBoard of Health- 3 year term, 1 positionBuckland Public Library Trustee- 3 year term, 1 positionFinance Committee- 3 year term, 2 positionsModerator- 3 year term, 1 position
